Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use the site.
Afflixor uses a combination of browser cookies and localStorage (a similar browser storage mechanism) to provide a functional and personalised experience.
Type: localStorage
Purpose: When you log in, we store an access token and refresh token in your browser's localStorage. These are required to keep you logged in as you navigate the platform. Without these, you would need to log in on every page.
Duration: Access token expires after 12 hours. Refresh token expires after 7 days.
Can you disable? No — these are essential for the platform to function when you are logged in. If you clear your browser storage, you will be logged out.
Type: localStorage
Purpose: Your wishlist is stored locally so guest users (not logged in) can save products. When you log in, this is synced to your account.
Duration: Persists until you clear browser storage or log out.
Can you disable? Disabling localStorage will prevent the wishlist from working for guest users.
Type: localStorage
Purpose: Remembers your preferred colour theme (dark or light mode) so it is applied automatically on your next visit.
Duration: Persists until cleared.
Can you disable? Yes — clearing localStorage removes this preference. The platform defaults to dark mode.
Type: sessionStorage
Purpose: Stores a temporary flag to prevent authentication retry loops if your session expires. This is cleared automatically when you close the browser tab.
Duration: Session only (cleared when tab is closed).
Can you disable? No — this is a technical safeguard for platform stability.
When you click through to a retailer (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, etc.), those sites may set their own cookies. We have no control over third-party cookies. Please refer to each retailer's cookie policy for details.
We do not currently use:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- Advertising or tracking cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
We may add these in the future and will update this policy accordingly.
You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time through your browser settings:
Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
Safari: Settings → Advanced → Website Data → Remove All Website Data
Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data
Note: Clearing storage will log you out of Afflixor and reset your preferences.
